A flexible solar panel converts sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic cells protected by a lightweight laminate. Selected modules can conform to a defined curve within the specified bending limit. Flexible does not mean foldable: never crease a module unless its instructions expressly permit folding.

They can be considered where a roof has limited spare loading capacity or a suitable curved surface. Suitability still depends on a structural review, roof condition, attachment design, local requirements and the selected module. Module weight alone does not establish that a roof can accept a complete PV system.

The direct-bonding range has a listed area weight of 2.9 kg/m². The framed flexible range is listed at 3.8 kg/m² including its frame. These figures describe modules, not total installed system load. Include adhesives, clamps, cabling and other components in the project assessment.

The standard flexible range includes 510–520 W and 550–560 W power bands. Max configurations are offered in the 550–560 W band. Rated power is a module test rating, not a prediction of daily electricity production. Confirm the selected bin and full electrical datasheet before ordering.

Some direct-bonding models support approved adhesive mounting. Compatibility depends on the roof material, surface preparation, adhesive system, temperature, drainage and loading requirements. Use the installation instructions for the exact module and substrate; adhesive mounting is not suitable for every roof.

A compatible charge controller is normally required. Check open-circuit voltage, operating voltage and current, temperature limits, battery chemistry and protective devices. For a grid-connected installation, select an inverter and string design compatible with the exact module datasheet.

Flexible modules use a lightweight protective construction and allow limited bending for approved applications. Conventional rigid panels use a rigid construction and support system. Compare total installed weight, mounting, roof compatibility, maintenance access and documented performance rather than treating either format as universally better.

Request the exact model datasheet, installation manual, applicable certificates or test reports, and written product and performance warranty terms.
